Barcode

The barcode module is part of the Warehouse Management System module (WMS). Currently, 3 fields of application are developed with interface to Navision.

These are:

  • Reception of spare parts.
  • The ‘picking' of spare parts on a workshop order.
  • The counting/inventorising of spare parts.
    • Reception: scanning the barcode of the spare part and entering the quantity.
    • Picking: scanning of the workshop order on which the parts will be placed, then you put in the quantity per scanned spare part.
    • Inventory: scanning of the spare part and input of the quantity in stock.
    • By pressing a button on the scanner, you transfer to Navision.
    • Possibility to register if parts which are "picked" will be reserved automatically or not after they were scanned (fill out the quantity delivered or not delivered).
    • You have a list "overview ordered spare parts" which can be printed before the scanning of the receipts, all pending spare parts are mentioned with corresponding bar code
Solution for spare parts without or with unreadable bar code.
    • A connection is foreseen with electronic invoices of spare parts and the pending orders in Dealer Management Systems.
  • The used scanner is the Cipher Lab CPT-8061. This includes a scanner and a cradle (charging station). The cradle is used to send the data to the PC and to charge the battery of the scanner.
